December is here, which means peppermint dreams & warm food by the fire and this easy candy cane oatmeal is here for it all!
Bring ½ cup unsweetened almond milk + 2 tbsp water to a boil.
Once boiling, turn heat to low and add in ¾ cup old fashioned oats.
Cover with lid and let cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Once the milk and water is almost absorbed, and the oats are cooked, stir in egg whites (optional for added protein), brown sugar, 1 packet Truvia sugar substitute and vanilla extract.
Once the oatmeal is cooked to your desired texture, pour into a bowl and top with chocolate chips and smashed pieces of candy cane.
With the ingredients that I use, this bowl of easy candy candy oatmeal is 8 WW smartpoints on the blue and green plans, and 2 smartpoints on the purple plan. If you use different ingredients, make sure to alter the points accordingly.
