Easy Candy Cane Oatmeal

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup oats old fashioned
  • 1/2 cup almond milk plain, unsweetened
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 3 tbsp egg whites
  • 7/8 tsp Brown Sugar Truvia brand
  • 1 packet Truvia sugar substitute
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
  • 6 gm candy cane
  • 9 gm milk chocolate chips Lily's stevia sweetened

Instructions

  1. Bring ½ cup unsweetened almond milk + 2 tbsp water to a boil.

  2. Once boiling, turn heat to low and add in ¾ cup old fashioned oats.

  3. Cover with lid and let cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  4. Once the milk and water is almost absorbed, and the oats are cooked, stir in egg whites (optional for added protein), brown sugar, 1 packet Truvia sugar substitute and vanilla extract.

  5. Once the oatmeal is cooked to your desired texture, pour into a bowl and top with chocolate chips and smashed pieces of candy cane.

Recipe Notes

With the ingredients that I use, this bowl of easy candy candy oatmeal is 8 WW smartpoints on the blue and green plans, and 2 smartpoints on the purple plan. If you use different ingredients, make sure to alter the points accordingly.
