I am getting so excited for my blog to launch! I can’t wait to bring all of you into my life and have some fun with you. My kitchen and recipes are not the only part of me. I wanted to share 20 random facts about me because, although the kitchen is where I find the most joy, there are lots of things that make me uniquely ME.
My parents named me after the Elvis Costello song, Alison
I have a tattoo on my right shoulder that says “My Aim Is True”, which is a lyric in the song
I was born and raised in Los Angeles. My parents still live in the house I grew up in.
Thomas and I just bought our first house…3 blocks away.
The one food I do not, under any circumstance, eat is onions. You will never see an onion in any of my recipes. I do, however, understand that they add flavor – so feel free to add some to your creations 🙂
I have been sober since June 19, 2011.
I got sober in the small fishing town of Astoria, Oregon.
I have one sister, three years younger than me.
Only in the past 2 years have I developed a love for cooking. I used to be a horrible cook. Like, ruin Easy Mac horrible.
Because I used to be so anti-cooking, I once lived in an apartment for a year and a half before I even opened up the oven.
My family had a french bulldog named Mike Tyson. We had to give him up because he started biting our faces. (coincidence?)
I filmed a commercial for Weight Watchers in November 2017 alongside Oprah, AT OPRAH’S HOUSE.
My first concert was Backstreet Boys, although I am team NSYNC all the way.
Thomas and I met on Tinder (he made the first move. I immediately started talking about cheese).
My favorite colors are white and gold.
If I had to live off of one meal for the rest of my life it would be a club sandwich. I have thought a lot about this. A club sandwich gives you bread, turkey, egg, bacon, lettuce, mayo..it has the possibility of creating several subsidiary meals from the one sandwich. It is also not overly flavorful, so I don’t think I would get sick of it. My family does a lot of talking about food…
A club sandwich, however, is not my favorite food. I just think it’s the most practical. My favorite food is Sushi. Or Mexican food.
I have never broken a bone. I used to want a cast so badly, though, that I would make my mom make me “casts” out of paper towels and colored duct tape. I would wear them around and have people sign them with sharpie and everything.
I have only seen snow 3 times in my life.
Runningwithfrosting does not have any special meaning. It is just something fun that I came up with. Who knew it would actually turn into something one day?
