Overnight oats are quick, so incredibly easy, versatile and the perfect on-the-go breakfast. And these vanilla protein packed overnight oats are the best I’ve ever had.
Whoever decided to rebrand oatmeal as “overnight oats” is really a genius. Think about it – someone just decided to make oatmeal in a mason jar, not cook it, keep it in a fridge for 24 hours and, all of sudden, viola: “overnight oats”.
All joking aside, overnight oats has quickly become my favorite on-the-go breakfast. I usually make 3 or 4 jars at a time, while I’m cleaning the kitchen and doing dishes after dinner. 4 morning worth of breakfast, made in just a few minutes while I doing some house chores? I couldn’t think of anything easier!
When I first started making my overnight oats, I would make them with unsweetened almond milk. And while that is a great option, I recently started adding in a vanilla protein shake and HOLY COW. Talk about flavor! These vanilla protein packed overnight oats seriously taste like a bowl of dessert and keep me full for hours.
Similar to a big cup of FroYo from Yogurtland, my favorite part of a bowl of overnight oats is the toppings. Powdered peanut butter, almond butter, berries, chia seeds, granola, slivered almonds, honey, maple syrup..the list is endless!
Before I started making my own overnight oats, I would buy the pre-made containers from grocery stores. Although these are convenient, they add up quickly. Making overnight oats at home is just as easy, definitely more fun & way more cost effective. If you haven’t tried for yourself, make a jar now!
Vanilla Protein Packed Overnight Oats
Overnight oats are quick, so incredibly easy, versatile and packed in a super cute mason jar. And these vanilla protein packed overnight oats are the best I’ve ever had.
- 1/2 cup quick oats
- 1/3 vanilla protein Premier Protein Shake
- 1/2 tbsp chia seeds
- 2 tbsp almond milk unsweetened
- 1/2 banana
- 2 tbsp blueberries
Pour 1/2 cup quick oats into the bottom of your mason jar.
Next add 1/2 tbsp chia seeds.
Pour in 1/3 of your protein shake & 2 tbsp unsweetened almond milk.
Slice 1/2 of a banana into pieces and add to mason jar.
Top with blueberries.
Close your jar and shake until all ingredients are mixed together.
Store in your refrigerator overnight.
