Poke Bowls are a way of life and these Fresh and Easy Homemade Poke Bowls are some of the best!
There’s something about spring and summer, the transition into light nights and the change into warm weather that just always gets me craving cold, fresh and citrusy poke bowls for dinner. Poke bowls have become a big trend lately, and for very good reason. They are delicious, packed with fresh fish, healthy and customizable!
What is poke?
Poke is diced raw fish served either as an appetizer or as a main course and is one of the more well known dishes of Hawaii. Poke has become part of mainstream America with the rise of poke bars that offer several fish options and even more toppings.
Whether it’s a Fro Yo shop, Chipotle, Pizza Rev or a Poke bar, we are all suckers for a good customizable treat. We like things catered to our own specific desires and made just for us. And for a picky eater like myself (#teamNoOnionsEVER), I love this new rise of custom dinners.
Eating out, however, can start to add up! My husband and I have recently started a new Friday night tradition of saunas and poke bowls and, as much as I love this new “date night”, it can definitely put a dent in the wallet. We have started having Make Your Own Poke Bowl Night on Friday nights, and I will never got back!
What you need to make your own poke bowl
- 4 ounces of your favorite sushi-grade fish, raw (I like salmon and tuna)

- ⅔ cup sushi rice
- ½ cup mixed greens
- 27 grams avocado
- ¼ cup mango, diced
- Cucumber, sliced
- 2 tsp S & B Wasabi Sauce

With fish, fruit, veggies and your mixed greens for a base, this poke bowl comes to just 8 WW smartpoints and is almost too big to finish. Almost!
